We were gallery SIX: Vermont state capital's ONLY dedicated art gallery and studio space that was run by a collective of four artists from June 2014 to April 2015. The gallery was located in the front of our space and exhibited on a bi-monthly basis that corresponded with Montpelier Alive's Art Walk. Abigail Feldman and Shamus Langlois both directed and curated the shows as a team, and combined their strong connection to the arts in conjunction with their rigorous formal education - they presented cohesive exhibits for the public to enjoy. Glen Coburn Hutcheson and James Secor utilized the studio in the back of 6 Barre St and assisted in the decision-making processes for the space. Open access to both gallery and studio allowed for a constant conversation between the creation and the exhibition of art, a connection we saw as integral to the appreciation of the creative process that resulted in the works themselves.
